Senator Cunningham Sponsors Reappointment of 33rd District Citizen to Veterinary Medical Board

JEFFERSON CITY — Senator Mike Cunningham, R-Rogersville,  sponsored the reappointment of David L. Gourley, as a member of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board during the Senate Gubernatorial Appointments Committee hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Among other responsibilities, the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board is responsible for establishing minimum standards for the practice of veterinary medicine; investigating complaints based on alleged violations of the board’s practice act; and addressing complaints through disciplinary hearings, informal conferences or other means, if necessary.
Gourley is co-owner of Whetstone Veterinary Service LLC, in Mountain Grove, and is chairman of the Missouri State Veterinary Medical Board.

“As a veterinarian himself, I know Mr. Gourley will bring to the panel a great deal of professionalism,” Sen. Cunningham said. “I was proud to support the reappointment of Mr. Gourley to this important board and look forward to hearing more about the critical work it does on behalf of our state.”
Gourley’s reappointment to the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board would be confirmed with an affirmative vote by the full Senate. For more information on Missouri’s boards and commissions, visit www.governor.mo.gov/boards.
